British Values
In year 2, we learn about the history of Britain and some key events such as the Great Fire of London. We study the team-work and resilience of the people as they worked to rebuild the city. During this year group, the pupils research and find out about significant changes from the British past in areas such as transport. We also take time to acknowledge Remembrance Day and think about the selfless sacrifices made. We study British geography by identifying weather patterns and famous landmarks. Additionally, the children take part in a weekly PSHE lesson focusing on respect, differences, tolerance, and relationships. As part of the year 2 curriculum, we hope to take the children to a stately home and a castle as they explore different elements of British culture and history.
