Phonics: Read, Write Inc

Here at Templars we follow the Read, Write Inc scheme of learning to teach your children their Phonics. This is a tried and tested scheme which has provided our children with positive development in reading and writing.

Reading

Below you will find links to websites with recommended reading lists for Reception-aged children. These lists are constantly being updated but are not exhaustive. If you have a favourite book at home, please let your child's class teacher know, and we can share it in school.

Writing

Here at the Templars we use the Kinetic Letters scheme of learning, which was newly introduced last year and has been a great success so far. It focusses on four strands:

• Making Bodies Stronger
• Learning the Letters
• Holding the Pencil
• Flow and Fluency
