Music

Why do we study Music?

Music is all around us and every day we encounter different styles of music. It is used on our computer games, favourite TV programmes and films, in the car, ipods and even in the shops. Studying music allows us to be creative, to listen to lots of different types of music, and develop and discuss our opinions about what we like or dislike. By studying, listening to and performing the music of the past and present composers, we can understand the music of the past, today and the future. Singing, creating our own music and learning a musical instrument, help us to become musicians. We have great fun, learn to problem solve and become more resilient and confident and can share our creativity with others.

Would your child like to learn an instrument? If so, complete this form.
